Sex or Gender Is Binary Due To Definiens Per Negationem

Image
There are only two sexes/genders, male and female. This has not only been a widely accepted and scientifically supported fact since the dawn of time, any transsexual or transgender claim is definiens per negationem and requires binary sex/gender to exist. This perspective suggests that the diversity of gender experiences is defined by what individuals are not rather than what they are.      It is also essential to acknowledge the reality of two sexes. This acknowledgment does not diminish the validity of non-binary or transgender identities but rather provides a foundation for understanding the complexities of human biology and diversity. For example, to claim one is not male but rather female is definiens per negationem and requires the reality that males exist.      Likewise to claim one is not a female but a male requires the reality that females exist. Transsexual claims, (or transgender) are claims of defin...

Tolerance Is Not a Virtue

Image
In contemporary thought today, we often come across with the claim “tolerance is a virtue.” Upon closer examination of these claims none of them mention relativism, conventionalism, or even any mention of what the actual virtues one should practice. All to often a call for “tolerance is a virtue” is more the attempt to establish tolerance as a blind requirement or obligation, or as a statement to conform to ideological beliefs that may have nothing to do with either tolerance or the person or thing we are supposed to be tolerant towards, (or intolerant towards).

Dematerialization in Metaphysics

Image
There exists a little-known idea of a way of thinking about things. I say little known because I did a media search term query for dematerialization and there wasn't a whole lot on what I was looking for. Dematerialization's cousin exists in art, where the object in the work becomes secondary to other things. In general, the same thing happens in metaphysics - the knower goes beyond the thing known...

What Is a Woman? A Woman Is an Adult Human Female; Two Fallacies Employed by Non-Gender Critical Persons and Institutions

Image
The documentary What is a Woman (The Daily Wire, 2022) has become popular this year with a problem that exposes a severe academic problem as far back as 2018. Back then and even today, the academic, scholarly, and I would argue, sensus communis position of Gender Critical (GC) philosophy has resulted in censorship in K-12 schools, for-cause firings in academia, and censorship in scholarly journals with brute force tactics of activists and weak-kneed administrations of educational institutions to advance the idea of gender . Kathleen Stock and others, (Medium page is here , her Substack subscription page is here ) have been pushing back against the academy and others who claim a woman is something other than an adult human female for years. Many people know that is true, but struggle to find the words, so documentaries like What is a Woman are popular since the traditional methodology of knowledge and linguistics is broken on this topic. So, if you have wondered if there is a ...

The Philosophy of Stuff and Moving It

Image
Stuff. Your box truck of stuff in your move suddenly combusts and all the stuff onboard is lost, transitioning to ashen rocks. Did you really need all that stuff anyway? What about regretting something you have thrown away and now long for it? In philosophy, stuff is called objects. It is one of the most broad categories of philosophy. So to examine how and when to move (or not move) stuff is to examine objects. But, how do we do that exactly? Definitions When we think of worldly stuff, we are mainly concerned with a sub-category of stuff known as worldly material objects. We must not forget, though, there exists immaterial objects, such as a point in time that exists as a memory in our minds. Let us call that mindstuff. So, stuff can be thought of in two ways, worldstuff and mindstuff. Mindstuff according to Merriam Webster (2022) is a thing that: ...consist(s) internally of the constituent substance of mind and to appear externally in the form of matter . Plain wording req...

Debunking "The Blind Watchmaker" Evolutionary Theory with Aristotle

Image
When it comes to bringing something into being, we must consider the form of the thing as well as whatever matter the thing is made of. Consider a tree.   Photo by Johann Siemens on Unsplash Of course, science has names for trees, categorizing trees first as Dendrology, woody plants, into genera and we are supposed to identify some feature of the tree such as pine cones or something. Can you see the leaf pattern, or details of the trunk in our tree above? Perhaps an arborist can identify the tree to some degree by the shape of its canopy. I would hazard a guess it is an Oak of some sort. What we can do is be certain the tree does appear to have some sort of woody trunk and branches . We can also say that the tree does differ from the grass there in that it is woody. So, being woody is the only difference between trees and all other living things. In philosophy, we would call that the species of the living thing we are talking about - that it is woody, it contains wood mat...
